How Berling collects, uses and protects personal data, from orders and payments to cookies and your rights under the GDPR.
1.1 This policy explains how Berling Atelier AB, “Berling”, “we” and “us”, collects, uses, shares and protects personal data when you visit our site or purchase from us.

1.3 This policy complements our Terms & Conditions. If anything here conflicts with mandatory law, the law prevails.
1.4 We do not sell personal data.
1.5 Cookie information is set out in Section 5.
2.1 Identity & Contact: name, addresses, email and phone.
2.2 Order & Payment: items, totals, currency and transaction or result codes. We do not store full card numbers or CVV.
2.3 Delivery: recipient details, tracking and delivery preferences.
2.4 Technical & Usage: device, browser, IP, cookies and pixels, pages viewed and interactions.
2.5 Communications & Preferences: customer-care messages, marketing consents and cookie choices.
2.6 Account, optional: login identifier, order history and saved details.
2.7 SMS Program Data: mobile number, opt-in status and timestamp, consent source and preferences, delivery status and interaction data, such as link clicks.
3.1 Purchases & Delivery. Basis · contract, Art. 6(1)(b). We use data to handle orders, payments, shipping and returns.
3.2 Customer Care & Fraud Prevention. Basis · contract and legitimate interests, Art. 6(1)(b) and Art. 6(1)(f).
3.3 Legal & Compliance. Basis · legal obligation, Art. 6(1)(c). This includes bookkeeping, tax, VAT and consumer law obligations.
3.4 Site Performance & Security. Basis · legitimate interests, Art. 6(1)(f). This includes load-balancing, logs and abuse prevention.
3.5 Analytics & Advertising. Basis · consent, Art. 6(1)(a). This includes audience measurement, personalization and retargeting, only if you opt in via our banner.
3.6 Marketing Communications. Basis · consent, or soft opt-in where permitted by local law. This includes product news and offers by email and, if you opt in, by SMS. You can opt out at any time.
3.7 SMS Abandoned Cart. Basis · consent, Art. 6(1)(a). If you opt in to SMS, we may use cookies or plugins to detect an abandoned cart and send a one-off reminder by SMS. See Section 5.
3.8 Transactional SMS. Basis · contract, Art. 6(1)(b). This covers service messages without marketing, such as order or service-related updates, where you have provided your number in connection with a purchase or service request.
4.1 SMS consent is voluntary and not required to make a purchase.
4.2 By opting in, you may receive recurring automated text messages, including promotional alerts such as limited releases, waitlists and back-in-stock messages, and service updates such as order notifications if you provided your number in connection with a purchase.
4.3 Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
4.4 To opt out, reply STOP at any time. For help, reply HELP or email info@berling.co.
4.5 Carriers are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages.
4.6 If you change your mobile number, you must re-subscribe with the new number.

5.1 We use cookies and pixels to operate the site, remember preferences, measure audiences and, if you agree, serve personalized ads.
5.2 Consent: we only set non-essential cookies, such as analytics and advertising cookies, with prior consent. You can accept, reject, manage and withdraw consent at any time through the banner or a persistent Cookie preferences link. Choices to accept or reject are presented with equal prominence.
5.3 Categories include strictly necessary cookies, which are always active for cart, checkout and login, functional cookies for preferences such as language and region, analytics cookies with consent, and advertising cookies with consent.
5.4 Browser settings can block cookies, though some features require them.
5.5 SMS abandoned cart: Berling’s website uses cookies to help keep track of items you put into your shopping cart, including when you have abandoned your cart. This information is used to determine when to send cart reminder messages via SMS.
5.6 If you accept Advertising cookies, we and selected partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads for Berling on third-party websites and platforms based on your visit to our site, and to measure campaign performance.
5.7 You can control or withdraw consent at any time through our Cookie preferences link and by adjusting your browser settings, including clearing cookies.
5.8 You may also opt out of interest-based advertising through industry tools: optout.aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.eu.
5.9 Opting out through these tools does not stop ads from being shown, but it may make the ads less relevant to you.
5.10 If you use a mobile device, you can also limit ad personalization in your device settings, for example by adjusting your advertising ID settings.
6.1 Where we use service providers to process personal data on our behalf, they act as processors under data processing agreements.
6.2 Relevant categories may include payment services, logistics providers, email and SMS delivery providers, hosting and technical service providers, analytics providers and customer-care tools.
6.3 Some email and SMS delivery providers may include processors outside the EEA with appropriate safeguards. See Section 7.
6.4 We may disclose data to authorities or legal advisers where required by law or to enforce our terms.
6.5 We may disclose data in connection with corporate events, such as restructuring or transfer, under confidentiality safeguards.
6.6 SMS opt-in data is not shared. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with third parties.
7.1 Some providers process data outside the EEA. We use lawful safeguards such as European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, adequacy decisions.
7.2 Details of the relevant safeguards are available on request.
8.1 Orders and accounting data: 7 years after the financial year end, under bookkeeping rules.
8.2 Customer care data: typically up to 36 months after resolution.
8.3 Marketing consents: until you withdraw consent or become inactive for a prolonged period.
8.4 Security logs: typically up to 12 months.
8.5 Cookies: per cookie lifetime, see Section 5, or until you withdraw consent or clear cookies.
8.6 SMS consent records: we retain SMS consent and opt-out records as required to demonstrate compliance and honor your choices.
9.1 Payments run through secure payment providers. Card data is encrypted and handled by them. We never store full PAN or CVV.
9.2 Banks may require 3-D Secure verification.
9.3 We use HTTPS/TLS in transit, hardened hosting, least-privilege access and vendor due diligence.
9.4 We monitor for abuse and fraud and apply staff access controls.
10.1 Your rights include access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, including to direct marketing, and withdrawal of consent. Withdrawal does not affect past lawful processing.
10.2 To exercise your rights, email info@berling.co. We respond within one month, extendable for complex cases.
10.3 Complaints: you may contact Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten, IMY, or your local EEA authority.
11.1 Our services target adults and are not directed to children.
11.2 If children’s data is processed contrary to this intent, we will delete it and, where required, seek parental consent.
11.3 Where consent is the legal basis for information-society services in Sweden, a child from age 13 may consent. Below 13 requires parental approval.

12.2 For material changes, we may show an on-site notice and/or email account holders.
