Terms & Conditions
The terms that govern purchases from Berling, from ordering and payment to delivery, returns, refunds and your rights under Swedish law. For everyday questions about orders, delivery or returns, Client Services gives the short answers.
1.1 These Terms govern the use of this website and all purchases from Berling Atelier AB, “Berling”, “we”, “us” and “our”.
1.2 By placing an order, you accept these Terms as published at checkout for that order.
1.3 These Terms should be read together with our Privacy & Cookies policy, which explains how we process personal data.
1.4 If these Terms conflict with mandatory consumer law that applies to you, that mandatory law prevails.
2.1 Your order is an offer to buy. A binding contract forms when we confirm the order by email.
2.2 We may refuse or cancel an order where necessary, including in cases of suspected fraud, pricing or stock errors, or operational constraints. Any payment taken will be refunded to the original payment method.
2.3 We may limit quantities per customer or household to preserve fairness and availability.
2.4 We may correct errors, including pricing errors, update information, or change or withdraw products at any time.
2.5 If an error affects an order after payment, we will cancel and refund the order or contact you to confirm the corrected terms.
2.6 You may request to cancel an order through your account until the order has been fulfilled. If the cancellation option is no longer available, the order may already be in preparation or dispatched, and our return policy applies after delivery.
3.1 The total shown at checkout is the final amount you pay for your destination.
3.2 Within the EU, prices include VAT at the applicable rate for your destination.
3.3 Outside the EU, orders ship Delivered Duty Paid. Import duties and taxes are included, with nothing further due on delivery.
3.4 Supported currencies vary by market. Where local currency checkout is not supported, transactions are processed in EUR as shown at checkout.
4.1 Payment is captured at checkout when your order is placed, including for pre-orders.
4.2 Payments are processed through secure payment providers. Depending on your bank, additional authentication such as 3-D Secure may be required.
4.3 Available payment methods vary by country and may include credit and debit cards, digital wallets, PayPal, Klarna and selected local payment methods.
4.4 By placing an order, you authorize us to charge the selected payment method for the full amount.
4.5 If a payment is declined or cannot be completed, the order will not be processed until a valid payment method is provided.
5.1 Pre-orders reserve future stock. Indicative timeframes appear on the product page before you order.
5.2 Pre-orders may be canceled through your account or by contacting us before dispatch for a full refund, unless the item is marked as made-to-order or personalized.
5.3 Personalized or made-to-order items are final sale, except where defective or non-conforming under mandatory law.
6.1 Complimentary worldwide delivery is provided through fully tracked premium carriers, including DHL Express where available.
6.2 Delivery estimates and dispatch guidance are set out on our Shipping & Delivery page.
6.3 After dispatch, you will receive a confirmation email with tracking. Depending on destination and service, carrier tools may allow rescheduling, redirecting within the same country, pickup point delivery, signature preferences, or a temporary hold.
6.4 We may update or substitute carriers without reducing the service level.
6.5 Title passes on full payment. Risk passes on delivery to the address you provided, including any authorized no-signature option. Undeliverable or uncollected parcels may be returned and treated under Section 7.
7.1 Berling return policy: 60 days from delivery. Items must be unused, with all original packaging and accessories.
7.2 EU right of withdrawal: statutory 14 days from delivery. Our 60-day policy exceeds this minimum.
7.3 Exclusions: no items are currently designated final sale. If personalized or made-to-order products are introduced in the future, those items may be final sale except where defective or non-conforming under mandatory law. Details will be shown on the relevant product page.
7.4 Process: initiate a return through your account or contact us. Follow the instructions provided.
7.5 Return shipping is customer-paid for standard returns and covered by Berling for defective or incorrect items. Use a tracked service and retain proof of postage.
7.6 For international returns to Sweden from outside the EU, mark the parcel and customs forms as Returned Goods and attach the invoice or order confirmation to the outside of the package.
7.7 Approved refunds are handled under Section 10.
8.1 Color changes and exchanges are handled as a return and a new order.
8.2 Return the original piece for a refund and place a new order for the piece you would like.
8.3 Ordering first secures the new piece without waiting for the return to arrive in Sweden.
9.1 Purchases are covered by the Swedish Consumer Sales Act.
9.2 You may complain within three years of delivery about original defects.
9.3 If a defect appears within two years of delivery, it is presumed to have existed at delivery unless we prove otherwise.
9.4 Remedies include repair, replacement, price reduction, or refund, as provided by law.
9.5 A complaint made within two months from discovery of a defect is always considered timely.
9.6 If a piece arrives defective, incorrect or damaged, contact us with your order number and photos so we can review and resolve the matter.
10.1 Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 2 to 3 business days of the return being received and approved.
10.2 Posting times depend on your bank or payment provider.
11.1 Our goods are handcrafted. Minor variations in color, grain, or dimensions are inherent to natural materials and artisanal production.
11.2 Images are professionally color-managed, though display may vary by device.
11.3 We reserve the right to update specifications and availability without prior notice.
12.1 All content on the website, including designs, images, text and trademarks, is owned by Berling or our licensors.
12.2 No reproduction, distribution, or derivative use is permitted without prior written consent.
12.3 Use the site lawfully. Do not scrape, reverse engineer, interfere with security, or misuse the services.
12.4 Accounts are optional. You are responsible for safeguarding credentials and all activity under your login.
12.5 We may restrict access for violations or to maintain site integrity.
12.6 Third-party links may appear on the site. We are not responsible for external sites or their content, terms, or policies.
13.1 We may offer an optional SMS or text message service for order updates and marketing. Participation is voluntary and not required for any purchase.
13.2 By opting in, you agree to receive recurring SMS or text messages to the mobile number you provide. Messages may be sent using automated technology and message frequency may vary.
13.3 We do not charge a fee for the SMS service, but your mobile operator’s message and data rates may apply.
13.4 You may opt out at any time by texting STOP to +18333564137 or by using any unsubscribe link provided in our messages where available. You may then receive a final confirmation message.

13.6 Mobile operators are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages. You must provide a valid mobile number and update it if it changes.
13.7 We may change or discontinue the SMS service, or change the sending number, at any time.
14.1 We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses.
14.2 Our aggregate liability relating to a purchase is limited to the price paid for the item or items.
14.3 Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited under mandatory law, including your rights under Section 9.
15.1 We are not liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, strikes, carrier failures, governmental actions and power or network outages.
15.2 Affected obligations are suspended for the duration of the event.
16.1 These Terms and purchases are governed by Swedish law. Mandatory consumer protections of your residence country remain.
16.2 If we cannot resolve a dispute, you may submit it to Allmänna reklamationsnämnden, ARN, Sweden’s National Board for Consumer Disputes, through arn.se. We participate in good faith in ADR procedures.
16.3 Court proceedings may be brought before Swedish general courts unless otherwise required by applicable law.
17.1 We may update these Terms. The version shown at checkout when you order applies to that order.
17.2 Material updates will be reflected on this page.
