An Independent Atelier

The House of Berling

The Berling atelier in Luleå, northern Sweden.

Founded in 2025, Berling works from a single atelier in Luleå, northern Sweden, near the Arctic Circle. The house specializes in small leather goods, made by hand from exceptional leathers.

The house is independently owned. Materials and methods are chosen for what they make possible, not for the time or cost they save.

Close to the Bench

André Oja leads the house and works at the bench. He began working with leather more than a decade before the first piece carried the Berling name.

Every Berling piece is designed and made entirely in the atelier, from the first cut to the final inspection.

The methods behind the work are detailed in Savoir-Faire.

The Collection

Legacy, Carried

Berling does not design for seasons or trends. No design enters the collection until every detail has been perfected.

A piece must remain worth carrying as its materials age, from one owner to the next. An heirloom is not preserved from use. It is made by it.
